I designed the logo and visual identity for Smartrawl, a new innovative product for sustainable fishing. With no existing branding, I collaborated with Smartrawls team - creating a look and feel that highlights the products cutting-edge technology and its focus on protecting the marine environment.

A little bit of context

Smartrawl is a sustainable fishing solution designed to reduce bycatch. Using AI and camera technology, it identifies species and size and directs fish through a controlled gate, ensuring only the intended catch lands.

It’s not every day you have King Charles standing on a logo you designed. Charles was photographed discovering the product at the UNs’ Climate Change Conference.

The story of Smartrawl was also showcased to a global audience at Cop28.

I was lucky enough to shaping the visual identity for Smartrawl, working closely with the client from initial research and brief development through to final delivery. I explored how to position a product entering the sustainable fishing market, refining logo concepts and identity elements to capture both innovation, sustainability and fishing practice. The result was a distinctive logo and a simple supporting visual identity that gives Smartrawl a credible and recognisable presence as it enters the industry.
