Designed the SEARCULAR website - a UKRI / EU-funded research project that develops circular solutions for fishing gear. The site communicates their mission to reduce and recycle marine plastics, presenting their four innovative technical solutions, and connects with a global audience of fisheries professionals, policymakers, and environmental NGOs.

SEARCULAR Website Design

The website

The SEARCULAR website needed to serve multiple roles: communicate the project’s mission, present innovative technical solutions, share project updates, and connect with diverse stakeholders across Europe.

  • Mission Communication: Clearly present SEARCULAR’s goal of reducing marine litter and microplastics through circular solutions for fishing gear.

  • Solutions Showcase: Highlight four technical innovations - recycled dolly ropes, bio-seine ropes, eco-FADs, and circular port-based systems.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support a wide audience - from fishers and policymakers to researchers, NGOs, and the general public - with accessible, structured content.

  • Project Transparency: Share news, resources, and partner information, including funding acknowledgements, to reinforce credibility and collaboration.

I developed the branding for the new SEARCULAR project from the ground up. This included the design of their logo, giving this new EU project a bold, credible presence in the fisheries innovation sector.

The branding

I led the design across the entirety of this project, working closely with the client and science and policy experts to carefully craft the identity and positioning SEARCULAR whilst adhering to EU funding requirements.
